Pad Kee Mao is a spicy Thai stir-fried noodle dish, also known as “Drunken Noodles”. Kee Mao directly translates from Thai to English as drunkard. Whereas the other popular Thai dish, Pad Thai, is nutty and sweet, Pad Kee Mao is spicy and savoury. Pad Kee Mao has a clear spicy soup broth filled with a tangy flavour derived from Kaffir Lime leaves and lemongrass. Kaffir Lime is a citrus fruit native to tropical Southeast Asia. Its fruit and leaves are used in Southeast Asian cuisine for their zesty flavour and full-bodied aroma. The leaves are the most frequently used part of the plant - fresh, dried, or frozen. The leaves are widely used in Thai and Vietnamese cuisine to add citrus notes without acidity. These instant noodles are quick and easy to prepare. Simply add boiling water, wait a few minutes, and enjoy.
